B-GLUCOSIDASE ACTIVITY AND GLOMALIN-RELATED SOIL PROTEINS UNDER DIFFERENT LAND USE
Resumo
Integrated Agricultural Production Systems (IAPS) favor carbon (C) cycling and agricultural production. Microorganisms are among those responsible for the dynamics of C in soils, so microbiological parameters are important for understanding this process. The objective of this study was to evaluate the activity of the enzyme ß-glucosidase and Glomalin-Related Soil Proteins (GRSP) in different land use. For this, evaluate a chronosequence: Native Forest (NF), Permanent Pasture (PP) and 2 Integrated Crop-Livestock (ICL). ICLa was conducted for 5 years in sucession of crops: soybean, corn/Brachiaria sp. and livestock. In 2022 the area was destined to pasture. ICLb was managed for 3 years with the mentioned crop sucession. In 2013, pasture was implemented. 9 repetitions per area were sampled, in layers 0-5, 5-10, 10-20 and 20-30 cm. ß-glucosidase activity and GRSP extraction was performed by spectrophotometry. Duncan’s test was used as a statistical parameter. In the 0-5 cm layer, ß-glucosidase (ug p-nitrophenol g-1 soil h-1) was higher in ICLa (73.20 ± 35.18), which differed from the other land uses. In the third layer, ICLb (20.63 ± 2.23) differed from ICLa (16.77 ± 2.39) and PP (15.69 ± 4.36), which differed from NF (9.66 ± 3.87). In the 20-30 cm layer all differed from NF (7.15 ± 2.20), ICLb (13.79 ± 2.38) did not differ from ICLa (11.92 ± 2.38), which finally did not differ from PP (9.68 ± 2.57). The results of GRSP (mg g-1 soil) were lower in 0-5 and 5-10 cm for PP (36.73 ± 14.03 e 25.65 ± 6.85, respectively) and differed from the other land uses. In the 10-20 cm layer, PP (14.49 ± 5.96) differed only from ICLb (33.65 ± 18.28) and NF (28.88 ± 18.19). In the last layer, ICLa (29.91 ± 10.42) and ICLb (23.42 ± 12.46) were superior, while ICLb did not differ from NF (18.96 ± 12.13). Finally, IAPS can be considered viable management methods for increasing the biological quality of the soil.
